Church Family,

As you know, for the past several weeks the Search Team and Elders have been engaged in a deliberate process of prayer, evaluation, and discernment regarding the next Lead Pastor of our church. We have sought to follow both the Scriptures and our church constitution, recognizing that the calling of a pastor is ultimately God's work and must be approached with humility, patience, and dependence upon Him.

After extensive prayer, conversations, interviews, review of doctrine, examination of character, and consideration of the biblical qualifications found in Titus 1:6-9 and 1 Timothy 3:1-7, the Elders are pleased to present Aaron Logan as our candidate for Lead Pastor!

In accordance with our church constitution, we are now entering a 30-day Congregational Consideration Period.

What is the purpose of this period?

This is not a political campaign or popularity contest. Rather, it is an opportunity for the congregation to participate in the biblical process of affirming qualified leadership.

During the next 30 days, we encourage you to:

• Pray diligently for Aaron, his family, and our church.

• Attend opportunities to hear Aaron teach and interact with the congregation.

• Get to know Aaron personally and learn more about his testimony, ministry philosophy, and heart for shepherding God's people.

• Pray for wisdom, unity, and discernment as we seek the Lord's will together.

What should be brought to the Elders?

The purpose of this consideration period is specifically to allow members an opportunity to share any information that may indicate a biblical disqualification from serving as an Elder or Pastor.

The Scriptures teach that church leaders must be men of proven character who meet the qualifications outlined by God. Therefore, if any member is aware of information that would call Aaron's qualifications into question according to those biblical standards, we ask that you speak directly and privately with the Elders during this 30-day period.

We ask that any concerns be:

• Based on biblical qualifications rather than personal preferences.

• Firsthand whenever possible.

• Shared directly with the Elders rather than discussed through informal conversations or speculation.

Moving Forward Together

The Elders have unanimously concluded that Aaron meets the biblical qualifications for pastoral ministry and have great confidence in God's leading throughout this process. We present him to you with gratitude, excitement, and anticipation, while also desiring to honor the responsibility our constitution gives to the congregation during this season.

We ask you to join us in praying that Christ would continue to guide His church, protect our unity, and make His will clear as we move toward calling our next Lead Pastor.

Please be sure to join us this Sunday morning, October 18th for an opportunity to worship our Great God and learn from the Scriptures taught by our candidate Aaron Logan.

As we have previously communicated, we are also anticipating the hiring of Brendan Tomassian. The Elders have had the opportunity to spend many hours with him over the past few weeks and are excited about the gifting and experience he will bring to our staff and church family. Over these coming weeks you will also have opportunities to meet Brendan and his family.

Last, but certainly not least, you might also notice some other new faces to RBC over the coming weeks. Many of these people will be members of the core team that was planning the launch of a church plant alongside Aaron and Brendan before the Lord providentially brought us together. We have no doubt that you will introduce yourselves and make them feel welcome as we worship our Great God together.
